The IFP Board of Training and Education serves as the governing body responsible for the planning, review, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of all Continuing Education (CE) activities offered by IFP, including live and recorded webinars and professional training programs. The Board operates in accordance with the American Psychological Association’s Standards and Criteria for Approval of Sponsors of Continuing Education for Psychologistsand related ethical and professional guidelines.
The Board is composed of licensed psychologists and other qualified mental health professionals whose education, training, and professional experience are relevant to the subject matter of the CE offerings. Board members provide independent oversight to ensure that all educational activities are grounded in current scientific evidence, established theory, and accepted standards of professional practice, and that program content is appropriate for the intended professional audience.
The Board of Training and Education is responsible for reviewing and approving proposed CE activities, including learning objectives, instructional formats, presenter qualifications, and educational materials, to ensure alignment with APA requirements. The Board evaluates each program for scientific integrity, relevance to professional practice, and absence of commercial bias. Consistent with APA standards, the Board oversees disclosure and management of potential conflicts of interest and ensures that CE activities are developed and delivered independently of any commercial influence.
In addition, the Board monitors compliance with APA policies related to participant evaluation, recordkeeping, and continuous quality improvement. Participant feedback is systematically reviewed and used to inform revisions to existing programs and the development of future CE offerings. Through these functions, the Board of Training and Education ensures that IFP’s CE activities maintain high educational quality, support ongoing professional competence, and promote ethical and effective practice among psychologists and other mental health professionals.
